Abstract:

In this paper, a microgrid including a solar panel, a battery energy storage system and a diesel generator as the backup source are optimally is designed. The microgrid is considered as a part of a distribution network, that could be considered as local area. As microgrids can operate in grid-connected mode, the proposed algorithm investigates the minimization of the distribution network power loss, the amount of imported power from the utility and the curtailed load in case of emergency. The main purpose of the proposed algorithm is to minimize the overall investment, replacement and operation and maintenance costs for a microgrid. This article suggests a Lightning Attachment Procedure Optimization Algorithm to optimally design the problem of sitting and scheduling of microgrids in distribution systems. Both problems are solved simultaneously. The proposed approach is applied on 33-bus test system, and the results are discussed. Fast convergence, best global answer finding, and robustness are the characteristics of the proposed method, which are concluded from the results and discussion.

Abstract:

Dynamic Compaction (DC) is employed as a simple and economical method to improve weak soils in the last few decades. DC is usually applied for granular soils by falling a heavyweight (up to 40 tons) from a height (up to 40 m) at regularly spaced intervals. Significant issues in DC are the weight and height of the tamper, compaction pattern and the distance between tamping locations. Incorporated innovation in this paper is to introduce an analytical approach to optimize the compaction pattern and DC variables regarding regular constraints. The required energy for compaction is evaluated for square and diamond patterns. DC Optimization is a non-linear and non-convex problem due to nonlinear equations in soil compaction behavior. Thus, a metaheuristic approach (Genetic Algorithm) is employed to find global optimum. The optimum answer presents the minimum compaction energy in each pattern. Results indicated that the maximum allowed values of tamper mass and the number of tamper drops were required to minimize compaction energy. The ratio of compaction energy at diamond pattern to square one was also found to be about 0.75 to 0.90 for the same compaction conditions.

Abstract:

In this paper, recommended spiral passive micromixer was designed and simulated. spiral design has the potential to create and strengthen the centrifugal force and the secondary flow. A series of simulations were carried out to evaluate the effects of channel width, channel depth, the gap between loops, and flowrate on the micromixer performance. These features impact the contact area of the two fluids and ultimately lead to an increment in the quality of the mixture. In this study, for the flow rate of 25 μl/min and molecular diffusion coefficient of 1×10-10 m2/s, mixing efficiency of more than 90% is achieved after 30 (approximately one-third of the total channel length). Finally, the optimized design fabricated using proposed 3D printing method.

Abstract:

Application of the network equivalent concept for external system representation for power system transient analysis is well known. However, the challenge to utilize an equivalent network, approximated by a rational function, is to guarantee the passivity of the corresponding model. In this regard, special techniques are required to enforce the passivity of the equivalent model through a post processing approach that minimizes its impact on the original model characteristics. In this paper, the passivity is enforced by expressing the problem in terms of a convex Optimization problem that guarantees the global optimal solution. The convex Optimization problem is efficiently solved by recently developed numerical interior–point methods. This passivity enforcement is also global which indicates that the passivity enforcement in one region does not lead to passivity violation in other regions.

Abstract:

The current research was conducted with the aim of the effect of Attachment style on emotion regulation with the mediating role of identity style. The research method was descriptive and structural equation analysis. The statistical population of the research was all second year high school students of Kashan city in the academic year of 1400-1401, of which 500 people were selected by random cluster method. Data were collected based on three questionnaires: Gross & Jan (2003) Emotional Regulation Inventory, Identity Style Scale (6G-ISI) and Collins and Reid (1990) Attachment Style Questionnaire. The data are obtained by structural equation modeling and using Laserl 8.8 and 26 spss software. analyzed. Based on the results, secure Attachment style at a significance level of 0.01, avoidant Attachment style at a significance level of 0.05, and ambivalent Attachment style at a significance level of 0.01 directly predicted emotion regulation. Among the three Attachments, secure Attachment style predicted emotion regulation at a significant level of 0.01, with the mediation of identity styles. Informational identity style at a significance level of 0.01, confused identity style at a significance level of 0.05 directly predicted emotion regulation. Among the three Attachments, only the secure Attachment style at a significance level of 0.01 had a significant role in predicting the normative identity style. According to the results of this study, emotion regulation is one of the most important constructs of educational psychology and an important factor in determining mental health and successful performance. It is in education that the factors affecting emotion regulation and its antecedents should be identified. Planning for training and holding educational workshops in this field in schools is suggested for students.

Introduction Today we are facing many challenges in various fields such as climate change, economic crisis and inequality that mainly due to unsustainable pattern of life, and it created environmental issues such as reduction of resources, coastal and marine degradation, deforestation and threats to biodiversity. As we know, many of today's environmental problems are the result of unsustainable living patterns. Loss of wetland ecosystems is for unsustainable living pattern also.

Abstract:

In this paper a general Procedure for automated minimum weight design of two dimensional steel frames under seismic loading is proposed. The proposal comprises two parts:a) Formulation of automated design of frames under seismic loading and b) introduction of an Optimization engine and the improvement made on it for the solution of optimal design. Seismic loading, that depends on dynamic characteristics of structure, is determined using "Equivalent static loading" scheme. The design automation is sought via formulation of the design problem in the form of a standard Optimization problem in which the design requirements is treated as Optimization constraints. The Optimality Criteria (DC) method has been modified/improved and used for solution of the Optimization problem. The improvement in (DC) algorithm relates to simultaneous identification of active set of constraints and calculation of corresponding Lagrange multipliers. The modification has resulted in rapid convergence of the algorithm, which is promising for highly nonlinear optimal design problems. Two examples have been provided to show the Procedure of automated design and Optimization of seismic-resistant frames and the performance and capability of the proposed algorithm.
